Map display: Google Maps and OpenStreetMap (OSM)

Learn about SuperCycle map widgets, route lines, and caching.

SuperCycle displays your live position and ride route on a map widget with your choice of map provider:

  • Map Providers: You can choose between Google Maps and OpenStreetMap (OSM) in Settings → Map Settings.
  • Route Lines & Course Follower: You can load GPX, TCX, or FIT routes to view your course line on the map. SuperCycle tracks your position along the route in real time.
  • Spoken Voice Navigation & Turn Cues: When following loaded routes that include course points or waypoints, SuperCycle provides spoken turn-by-turn voice prompts using your phone's Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine, on-screen visual maneuver banners with countdown distances, and audio alert beeps. You can enable or adjust spoken prompts in Settings → Navigation → Voice Guidance.
  • Tile Caching: OpenStreetMap tiles are cached locally for up to 90 days, reducing mobile data usage on your favorite routes. See our dedicated guide on how to use offline maps & pre-cache routes.
Voice Guidance Setup: Spoken turn prompts can play through your phone speakers or connected Bluetooth headphones (e.g. bone conduction headsets). Make sure media volume is audible and turn on Voice Guidance in Settings → Navigation → Voice Guidance.
