SuperCycle connects to all standard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Heart Rate Service (HRS) monitors, including chest straps, optical armbands, and smartwatches that support BLE heart rate broadcasting:
Supported Heart Rate Devices:
- Chest Straps: Garmin HRM-Dual / HRM-Pro, Polar H9 / H10, Wahoo TICKR, Coospo H808S, and any standard BLE chest strap.
- Optical Armbands: Polar Verity Sense / OH1, Wahoo TICKR FIT, Scosche Rhythm+.
- Smartwatches (e.g., Garmin Watches): Many modern smartwatches can broadcast your wrist heart rate over Bluetooth to cycling computers like SuperCycle.
How to Broadcast Heart Rate from a Garmin Watch:
- On your Garmin watch (Forerunner, Fenix, Venu, Epix, Instinct, Enduro), open the settings menu.
- Navigate to Wrist Heart Rate (or Sensors → Wrist Heart Rate).
- Select Broadcast Heart Rate (or Broadcast During Activity).
- In SuperCycle, tap Sensors → Heart Rate and tap Scan.
- Select your Garmin watch when it appears in the scan list. SuperCycle will pair and display your live heart rate and HR zones throughout your ride.
Apple Watch Heart Rate Broadcasting:
By default, Apple Watch does not broadcast heart rate over open Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to third-party bike computers without an intermediary utility.
If you wear an Apple Watch, you can use the third-party iOS app HRM Heart Rate Monitor on the Apple App Store. This app reads your heart rate from your Apple Watch and broadcasts it using the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate Service (HRS) protocol. SuperCycle will detect it during a sensor scan and display your continuous heart rate and zones on your handlebar cockpit.
