ServiceCacls is a utility with a graphical user interface that allows an
administrator to view and modify security settings of Windows NT
Services.
READ THIS FIRST:
- USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! This program allows you to change settings that could render your computer unbootable or prevent software applications from running.
- You should know about Windows NT Services.

You should have a good working knowledge of Windows NT Security including:
- Discretionary access control lists (DACL).
- Access control entries (ACE) .
- Basic and service specific access permissions.
- Security descriptors.
- Security Identifiers (SID).

You must be logged in as an administrator to run or install this program. - In short, you better know what you are doing before running this program!
ServiceCacls allows you to perform the following functions on Windows NT Services:
- Change or take ownership.
- Set a NULL DACL.
- Set an EMPTY DACL.
- View, add or remove ACEs in a DACL.
- Modify access permissions in an ACE.
Requirements:
Windows NT 4.0 or later, Windows 2000/XP, administrator rights.
